He's Got the Perfect Time for Your Blessing

"I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, And in his word do I hope." Psalm 130:5 KJV

"I am counting on the Lord; yes, I am counting on him. I have put my hope in his word." Psalm 130:5 NLT

Romans 10:17 says that faith comes by hearing the Word of God. Faith then, is a prerequisite to receive salvation. Many that receive the wonderful gift of salvation, don't question whether God in fact gave them the salvation through Jesus Christ. Salvation is accepted and received without any doubt. However (and this is a big "however"), the faith of many fluctuates when it comes to anything else in life. Somehow, without a shadow of a doubt, we believe God for spiritual salvation, but not salvation for anything else in our lives. When we're expecting something in the natural, something concrete - that our eyes can see and our hands touch, we're faced with the challenge of disconnecting from our limited way of thinking... from our natural sight. We become paralyzed before trials and difficulties. Could it be because things look difficult? Does it seem impossible that it can be done? Is it that we are still waiting for an answer? You've been praying "too long" for the same situation? Whatever the case may be, we've all been there - in the waiting period. We're all most likely in that situation right now! There will always be a prayer request that goes unanswered longer than others. Why is that? There are many reasons why, but the core reason of it all is: our faith. Our faith needs to be tested. James 1: 2-4 says it like this: "2 Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing."

We can rest assured in knowing that our Heavenly Father is a Mighty God; Perfect in all His ways. He provides exactly when we're in need. If we're in a period of waiting, it isn't to cause us to lose faith, but to cause endurance! To continue showing that same confidence we showed when we decided to believe Christ saved us and made us heirs along with Him (Romans 8:17).

Let's use Daniel 10 as an example:

Daniel received a vision which prompted him to humble himself before the Lord for 3 weeks:

2 "When this vision came to me, I, Daniel, had been in mourning for three whole weeks. 3 All that time I had eaten no rich food. No meat or wine crossed my lips, and I used no fragrant lotions until those three weeks had passed."

In the following verses we learn that the answer to his prayers was delayed because of the spirit prince of Persia:

12 "Then he said, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer. 13 But for twenty-one days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the archangels, came to help me, and I left him there with the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia. 14 Now I am here to explain what will happen to your people in the future, for this vision concerns a time yet to come.”

Daniel endured 3 weeks of "mourning" - humbling himself before God for an answer. Daniel could have stopped praying and his faith could have wavered. But he chose to remain prayerful and waited for the answer. What a wonderful example of perseverance! God could have given him the answer right away, but He allowed the delay! Our God's hands are not tied and He is NEVER late!

While exchanging thoughts with a loved one, this wonderful reminder was shared with me: "It's not out of His hands, it's just out of our timing." We can wait and count on Him, on His Word, that we will receive salvation in whatever situation we're in. Do we see progress? Any changes in the situation? Is He saying anything at all? Probably not! But guess what? Our request was answered before we brought it before His throne!!! The answer is there! The blessing is there! We're just waiting for it to be released and received! Go before Him with praise and thanksgiving! He's got your answer and control of it all during the wait!

"6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." Phil. 4:6-7 NLT

With You in Prayer!
