... But There Is Hope!
My brothers and sisters in Christ,
These are some difficult times we're facing. The devastation around us is hard to ignore. The louder pain and sorrow are expressed by those in our communities and the world, the more it becomes our own. I have no doubt in my heart that all of us have shed tears when we watch the news, see pictures and read articles or statuses on social media of the extreme hopelessness many are facing. Most of what surrounds us today is chaotic. We try to live our lives as "normal" as we can, but end up being pulled emotionally by the instability of this world.
Where would I be if I didn't have Jesus right now? Where would my mind be if I couldn't go into His Presence to find peace and wisdom in these times? How would I have the strength to wake up every morning and go about my day if I didn't have the Holy Spirit's comfort, consolation, and guidance? How could I stand firm in faith if I didn't have His Word to sustain my heart? Praise be to our Father that we DO have Jesus, we DO have peace and wisdom in His Presence, we DO have the Holy Spirit and we DO have His Word available at all times!
It is no surprise to God that you and I would live in these times. He made us for a time such as this one. So, I pray that today and every day until His return, we hold on firmly to Him. That we call on His name and ask for wisdom, strength and courage to persevere and not waiver. I pray that His Holy Spirit gives us valor to continue spreading the Gospel, and that we intercede for ourselves and the rest of the world. We are in perilous times, therefore our eyes should be fixed in Jesus. He is our hope, our salvation, and our rock. Let our rest be in Him and Him alone. I am with you in prayer!
This is for You,
Romans 8: 16-29 (NLT)
16 For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. 17 And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.
18 Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. 19 For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. 20 Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, 21 the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay. 22 For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us.
24 We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already have something, we don’t need to hope for it. 25 But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.)
26 And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. 27 And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. 28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. 29 For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.
Hebrews 12:1-2 (KJV)
1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
1 John 3:3 (ESV)
3 And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.
1 Peter 1:6-9 (NLT)
6 So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. 7 These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
8 You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. 9 The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls.
Romans 10:10-13 (NLT)
10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.11 As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” 12 Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him. 13 For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Proverbs 2:2-12 (NLT)
2 Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. 3 Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding. 4 Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures. 5 Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God. 6 For the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. 7 He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity. 8 He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him.
9 Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair, and you will find the right way to go. 10 For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy. 11 Wise choices will watch over you. Understanding will keep you safe.
12 Wisdom will save you from evil people, from those whose words are twisted.
Psalms 18:30-31 (NLT)
30 God's way is perfect. All the Lord's promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to Him for protection. 31 For who is God except the Lord? Who but our God is a solid rock?
Psalms 18:46 (NLT)
46 The Lord lives! Praise to my Rock! May the God of my salvation be exalted!
Psalms 32:8 (NLT)
8 The Lord says, "I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you."
Psalms 105:5 (NLT)
5 Search for the Lord and for his strength; continually seek him.
Isaiah 12:2 (ESV)
2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.
